Description: The Swiss Gruyere is a cow's milk cheese ripened for 15 months from Switzerland; it is an authentic, creamy, unpasteurised hard cheese. The natural, rusty brown rind is hard, dry and pitted with tiny holes. The cheese is dark yellow with a dense and compact texture. Gruyere is sweet but slightly salty, with a flavor that varies widely with age. Slightly grainy, the cheese has a wonderful complexity of flavours - at first fruity, later becomes more earthy and nutty with age
Weight: Approx. 200g/ piece
Wine Pairing: The Gruyere goes well with white wines like Riesling.
Our cheeses can be kept for at least a week from the date of delivery. After opening the initial wrapping paper, we recommend to store the cheeses in a clean, dry cling wrap and store them in the lower compartment of the fridge which is usually not too cold or dry.
