Tasting notes: Its color is deep red and gives off aromas of red berries, violets. On the palate, it is a wine with roundness and delicacy which improves up to 8-10 years. The Volnay then develops aromas of truffle, smells of undergrowth and animal scents; it is at the same time full, generous and velvety and soft tannin.
About the winery: Régis Rossignol-Changarnier started at the domaine in 1966 with his father, François Rossignol and produces wines that are proudly traditional and kept as simple and non-interfered with as possible. The domaine has 7 hectares of vines which are predominantly in the commune of Volnay, however there is 0.5 hectares in Pommard, 0.66 hectares of Beaune Teurons, a little Savigny and some Meursault. The domaine’s vines have been inherited from previous generations and little interference has occurred over the years with Régis working traditionally, ploughing the vines with the minimum of chemical treatments and following the moon rather than a Bio calendar.
