Chateau Grand Rivallon, St-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, 75cl, 2012

Presentation of the estate

The AOP Saint Emilion Grand Cru covers the same appellation as Saint-Emilion and is situated in the Libournais on the right bank of the Dordogne. To be labeled Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, the production conditions are stricter than the AOP Saint-Emilion: yield limited to 40hl/ha and a mandatory aging for 12 months.

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru covers 4030 ha of limestone, silty clay and sandy soils. Merlot dominates this AOP blend, but the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are also vinified. Saint-Emilion Grand Cru annually produces 150,291 hectoliters of red wine.
