Description: Gorgonzola, an Italian cow's milk cheese, is one of the world's oldest blue-veined cheeses. Gorgonzola is made exclusively with milk from cows raised in Piedmont and Lombardy. Since 1996, Gorgonzola has benefited from the Denomination of Protected Origin (DOP) certification. At the end of this process, the cheese will have developed its characteristic blue-marbled color and sweet, yet slightly spicy, flavor. Generally, it takes three to four months to attain full ripeness. This cheese has a crumbly and soft texture with nutty aroma. It can have a mild to sharp taste depending on its age.
Packing: Approx. 200g per piece
Wine Pairing: Gorgonzola goes well with wines like Bordeaux Blend (Red), Zinfandel and Sauternes.
Our cheeses can be kept for at least a week from the date of delivery. After opening the initial wrapping paper, we recommend to store the cheeses in a clean, dry cling wrap and store them in the lower compartment of the fridge which is usually not too cold or dry.
